What is the process for sending an invention or idea to someone for consideration?

Thank you for contacting Stanley Black & Decker and/or its subsidiary companies regarding your idea or invention.
Stanley Black & Decker has been dedicated to accepting idea submissions from the general public for over 100 years and in order to stay innovative on how we accept those we are making some changes.
  • The “Open Ideas” system located at (https://stanleyblackanddeckerinnovation.brightidea.com) will be changing with a new concept that will include four different Idea Challenges, rolled out quarterly over the course of a year.
  • All of the Idea Challenges will focus on different concepts, and all Idea Challenges will be open to the public’s participation.
If you have previously submitted an idea to our Open Idea website, and you are waiting for a response regarding the status of your idea; we will honor your submission and evaluate your idea, and a response can be expected within 90 days.
